In the past sneakers have remained in the workout only category of my life until recently. Today, I've dressed up my New Balance 420 Tomboys with a flowy bright DVF blouse and a statement necklace from Zara's. Most of the outfits I wear in the day can be transformed into a night look by swapping out or by adding one item. Find ways to utilize your wardrobe to the fullest for a less stressful time outfit planning and less money spent online...or in stores if you're one of the lucky ones that gets to shop in the stores.
Here they are again...more denim by One Teaspoon. I dressed these Hendrix Bandits up with a sheer white pleated peplum and white pumps. I'm still head over heels for my Smythe riding blazer...and those patches!!!
I had the pleasure of being a Californian for 8 wonderful years before moving to FL. I can't believe that it's been almost a year since I've hopped coasts. I'm grateful to be closer to my NY family and still be able to go to the beach on a whim, but I miss my CA friends (& hotbot cuz) that have become like family. One of the hardest parts was missing the pregnancy of one of my besties. Well the wait is over and her baby boy just arrived last night! I cashed in some frequent flier miles and just booked a long weekend out to see my "nephew".
So for today's look I took inspiration from my Cali fashionistas, effortlessly cool. One Teaspoon is such a fun "Old School Rock & Roll Glamour" clothing company out of Australia. Has anybody else noticed that while clicking on a look or a piece of clothing on Instagram that you love, you find out that the designers are Australian? It must be that beautiful ocean air and beach life! I have their Awesome Baggies in white, these Bandits in Worn White and in Hendrix. I ordered the next size up so they would sit lower on my hips and more leg would be covered.
It's a blessing and a curse living only 10 minutes away from some amazing designer outlets. My fashion advice that my friends ask for is mainly given over text and pictures, but rarely in person since relocating from CA. However, I do have a newly engaged friend right here in FL! So you could imagine all of the planning and shopping that has been going on. Pictures and ideas are constantly being exchanged between us. So, when I found these amazing Gucci Phoebe sandals (last season) online I tracked them down at the outlets. I pictured them going perfect with her wedding dress that she still needs to purchase! The ones that I saw were gold with white beads, but when I got to the outlet they only had them in gold and black. When I called to tell her, she responded with a, "Well, there's always the engagement party!" Haaaaa! That's my girl. Don't worry she knows that I'm wearing them in my look. I paired them with my versatile black jumpsuit...from TJ Maxx! It's my kind of splurge and steal getup.
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban|| Jumpsuit: Joe B. from TJ Maxx|| Sandals: Gucci Phoebe|| Clutch: Clare Vivier|| Jewelry: Vintage Chanel (Beyond The Rack), Henri Bendel, Kate Spade, Amrita Singh (Gilt), ring from TJ Maxx
Midi skirts aren't always the most flattering on my petite frame, especially because I have a few curves I'm working with. I found that pairing it with a peplum top creates more of an hour glass shape, and helped balance out my lack in inches. Another route I could've gone was to keep my shoe neutral or eliminate the ankle strap all together to lengthen my leg. I chose to go with these gorgeous suede Zara sandals to add a splash of color to my all black and white look.
